Expertise, perspectives, a shared vision.

Les Muses BM is above all a story of collaborations. Artists, artisans and partners share with us the same requirement: that of the right gesture, respect for cultures and the transmission of know-how.

Each encounter nourishes the project and gives birth to unique creations, shaped in a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.

Laurence Mattet

An art historian and director of the Barbier-Mueller Museum for over thirty years, Laurence Mattet has dedicated her career to the dissemination and recognition of non-Western arts.

Alongside Jean Paul Barbier-Mueller, she organized over a hundred exhibitions worldwide and oversaw the publication of more than a hundred reference works. Her commitment to the preservation of endangered cultures continues today through the Barbier-Mueller Museum Cultural Foundation, which she directs, and the magazine Arts & Cultures, of which she is editor-in-chief.

Laurence Mattet supported the Muses BM project from its beginnings, accompanying the brand in its desire to transmit and respect cultures.

Estaa - Prerna Collection

The Prerna collection was born from the collaboration with the Estaa fashion house, founded in Mumbai in 2009 by Swati and Pratik Shah.

Their work draws deeply from Indian heritage, blending ancestral craft techniques with contemporary interpretations. Estaa's family structure, her high aesthetic standards, and her commitment to passing on knowledge made this collaboration a natural fit.

To preserve the authenticity and spirit of the Prerna collection, artistic direction was entrusted to Pratik Shah and Valentine Barbier-Mueller. The jewelry is entirely designed and crafted in India, as close as possible to its source of inspiration.

Sonia Morel

Swiss artist Sonia Morel, based in Lausanne, has been developing a body of work for many years that has been exhibited in Switzerland and internationally.

His meeting with Monique Barbier-Mueller in 1992 marked the beginning of numerous trips to Africa, particularly to Mali and Ivory Coast. These experiences nourished a body of work deeply influenced by the forms, materials, and symbols of African cultures.

For the One Collection, Sonia Morel created unique necklaces, in perfect resonance with the universe of the BM Muses, where the object becomes a bearer of meaning and memory.

Romain Ulmann

A Geneva-based designer trained in watchmaking, Romain Ulmann worked for nearly ten years for prestigious watch and jewelry houses.

In 2017, he founded Rudivico, a contemporary jewelry brand combining Swiss craftsmanship, precision, and modernity. His sensitivity to detail and materials naturally aligns with the philosophy of Muses BM.

He designed several pieces for the One Collection, bringing a contemporary interpretation to inspirations drawn from art and cultures around the world.
